******Project Part 3: Reflection*******
Instructions
1. As you write this reflection, assume that you are writing for someone who knows nothing about the project. This means that you must thoroughly explain each step, how you did it, and what you observed. There is no template provided in this part.
2. Do not list. Use essay format instead.
3. Use APA style for this document. Include a title page, essay body, and references page.
4. Use headings to transition between sections in the body of the essay.
5. The essay should have an introduction, body paragraphs, conclusion, and references page.
6. Use a specific, descriiptive title. Do not use the name of the assignment as your title.
7. Be sure to use formal, objective writing for this reflection. You may use the first person, ‘I,” when you describe what you did.
8. The word count should be a minimum of 1200 words.
1. The Introduction
A. Identify the purpose of the project and explain its importance [Single subject design focusing on gratitude and altruism, development of ASGW competencies]
B. Provide a road map for the essay (what will be discussed and why) [will explain the single subject design, the importance of behavior change, links to ASGW competencies and group processes, etc.]
2. Body paragraphs & sections in the paper
A. Use these paragraphs to explain what you did, how you did it, and why you did it. Use concepts from the class in these paragraphs. Be sure to define each concept and provide a citation for the concept.
B. Use headings to transition from one section to the next. After the introduction, which does not need a heading, insert a heading for Methods, Results, ASGW Competencies, and Conclusion.
3. Methods
A. Be sure to describe how and when you measured your moods (the method you used). Be sure to discuss both the baseline and intervention.
B. How frequently did you measure your moods/feelings during each phase of your study, and how did you measure your moods/feelings?
C. Describe how often you wrote in the journal—both gratitude and altruistic acts.
4. Results
A. Be sure to describe the patterns or trends in your feelings did you observe during the baseline.
B. Discuss what triggered moods and feelings during the baseline.
C. Briefly describe your acts of kindness. What did you do, for whom, where, when, and why?
D. Did you observe any change in your moods after you wrote in the gratitude journal?
E. Did you observe any change in your mood when you engaged in your altruistic behavior?
F. Were there noticeable changes from the baseline to the end of the intervention? If yes, what were they? If no, provide a rationale for the lack of change.
5. Association for Specialists in Group Work Competency Standards
A. Be sure to refer to the Association for Specialists in Group Work’s competency standards, parts A, B, C, and D.
B. You will identify three competencies from these standards and explain how your participation in this project helped you to achieve the competencies. Do not select more than one competency from a section.
C. Explain how your participation helped you achieve the selected competencies. How was your experience relevant to the helping profession?
